How We Use AI at Genially
At Genially, generative AI is here to help you create faster, more smoothly, and with more freedom. And always with one clear principle: your content is yours. We work under strict security, privacy, and compliance standards—including Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, the EU AI Act—and we’re committed to transparency and user control every step of the way.
What We Never Do
We don’t train our own AI models, and we never use your creations to train AI systems—ours or third-party ones. That’s it. Simple.
Where AI Appears in Genially
We use AI only when you decide to turn it on. And we only send the information needed for the feature to work properly
These are the technologies we use (you can choose the provider in each case)
- Image generation:
- Flux
- Google Nano Banana Pro
- Ideogram
- Voice-over (text to speech):
- Polly (Amazon)
- Text editing, interactive question generation, quizzes, and translation: OpenAI
If you’re not using these features, we don’t send anything. Zero.
Your Content Is Yours: How We Handle Data
- We don’t operate or train our own LLMs or generative AI models.
- Prompts and content sent to providers are configured so they aren’t stored or used to train models.
- Our platform is hosted on AWS Ireland, and each provider runs their models on their own infrastructure.
- We continuously review each provider’s documentation, security measures, and commitments to ensure compliance with the EU AI Act and GDPR.
You Decide How to Use AI
AI in Genially is a tool—not an autopilot. You choose when to use it and what you share.
We recommend avoiding extremely sensitive information—such as medical data, financial data, or special-category personal information—in prompts. And as always, review the generated content before sharing it.
Need More Control?
Enterprise and Campus workspaces can disable AI-based features. When they’re disabled, no data is sent to AI providers. None. Under any circumstance.
We Select Our Providers With Care
Before integrating any AI technology, we evaluate:
- Its risk level, following the EU AI Act framework.
- Whether it includes risk-management processes, human oversight, and security measures.
- Its compliance with international standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR.
We also test features internally and monitor their behavior and potential issues once deployed.
All information sent to and from AI providers is encrypted in transit, and data stored in Genially is always encrypted at rest. These features aren’t critical to the platform’s core operation—they can be turned off without affecting Genially’s overall availability.
