About ibW
About ibW
ibW Höhere Fachschule Südostschweiz is one of Eastern Switzerland's leading providers of higher vocational education, delivering practice-oriented training and continuing education across a wide range of professional fields.
The challenge
Beyond Static LMS Content
ibW had relied on their LMS native tools to create and deliver learning content. As the team became more creative, those tools could no longer provide the interactivity, gamification, or design flexibility they needed. In 2020, the ibW team started looking for an easy-to-use solution that could turn static materials into engaging experiences while integrating seamlessly with their existing LMS.

One Shared Creative Workflow
ibW gradually built Genially into its content workflow, creating interactive presentations, learning experiences, quizzes, and games embedded directly in OpenOlat, their LMS. Shared team templates now let colleagues reuse existing structures instead of rebuilding projects from scratch. The team can collaborate on common resources, update embedded content without re-uploading it, and collect instant learner feedback through Live Sessions.
Results
More output in a shorter time
Monthly production grew from around 5–7 presentations to approximately 15–20 presentations and learning experiences. The team has created 1,318 Geniallys across 42 workspaces. Shared templates accelerate creation, while centralized resources reduce duplicate work and multiple versions. Updating embedded content also saves time, helping the team produce more high-quality learning materials while maintaining consistent design across courses.
